How France Sank the Original Middle East Peace

Forgotten in all the inextinguishable flame and ferocity of the Arab-Israeli conflict is the fact that at the key moment in the history of Arab nationalism, 1919, the Arabs were willing to leave at peace with the West and even contractually agreed to a Jewish homeland in Palestine. France shattered that opportunity and the world has never been the same. The article, drawn from Banking on Baghdad, first appeared in the New York Jewish Press and was then syndicated to several dozen Jewish newspapers, which ran the article in a variety of lengths and formats, and then re-syndicated to the general media.
