Edwin Black explores the history of Iraq in his new book, "Banking on
Baghdad: Inside Iraq's 7,000 Year History of War, Profit, and
Conflict." It chronicles Iraq from the days of Mohammed to the Mongols
to the Ottoman Empire to the present day. The author stresses the
importance that oil has played throughout Iraq's history as well as the
role it will continue to play in the future.
Author Bio: Edwin
Black is also the author of "IBM and the Holocaust," "The Transfer
Agreement," and "War Against the Weak." Mr. Black has written for New
York Times, Reform Judaism, Der Spiegel, and L'Express.
